Auditions for the 2010-2011 season of Chicago Master Singers will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, August 10, 12, 17 and 19, in Palatine.
Chicago Master Singers, under the direction of Alan Heatherington, is a 130-voice choral ensemble featuring singers from Chicago and suburban communities. CMS has performed great choral masterworks in collaboration with professional soloists and orchestras since 1979.
If you are a dedicated singer interested in singing with CMS, we want to hear from you! We will contact you to answer your questions and schedule an audition time.
Audition Requirements: You may sing a prepared piece of your choice, and this is recommended. Please bring three copies of the music. Otherwise, you will be asked to sing a familiar song provided for you at the audition. A pianist will be provided to accompany you. You will also be asked to vocalize and sight-read an unfamiliar piece.
CMS rehearsals are on Monday evenings from 7:00 to 10:00 pm in Palatine beginning August 23 and also on Tuesdays and Thursdays of concert weeks. Performances in November, December and April take place in the beautiful Divine Word Chapel in Techny (near Northbrook). The May performances will be in the James Lumbar Center for the Performing Arts, College of Lake County, in Grayslake. Membership dues are $100 per year.
