Julius Meinl Neighborhood Dinner: “Will you be Meinl?”
Bring your valentine to the Meinl on Lincoln for a five plated course dinner followed by a live piano performance by Austrian pianist Ingrid Marsoner sponsored in partnership with PianoForte Chicago, Inc and the Austrian Consulate General Chicago.
The menu begins with amuse bouche: Kumamoto oysters on the half shell with fennel and dill lime mignonette. Next, there will be pan seared scallops with coconut curry sauce, roasted cauliflower puree and young pea shoots. The third course is house made spätzle served carbanara style with shrimp, lobster and spring onions. The main entrée is a roasted pork loin with wilted watercress blood oranges and cranberry walnut chutney. Vegetarian options will definitely be available. For dessert there will be a selection of decadent chocolate pastries from the Julius Meinl Patisserie.
As dessert is served, the concert will begin. Sponsored in part by the Austrian Consulate General Chicago, the well-known Austrian pianist, Ingrid Marsoner will perform a forty minute concert. The program is to include: Haydn’s Fantasy C-Dur, Hob.XCII:4, Mozart’s Fantasy c-Moll, KV 475, Schubert’s Impromptus Ges-Dur, D 899/3 and As-Dur, D 899/4 and Janáček’s “In the mist” Nr.3 and 4.
